Annotation description:Rab5A was detected by mass spectrometry on highly purified synaptic vesicles. This was further validated using anti-Rab5 antibody by immunoblotting and by staining of GFP-Rab5A with synaptophysin in transiently transfected hippocampal neurons. The presence of Rab5A in synaptic vesicles was separately identified in another study (Takamori et al., 2006; PMID 17110340) by mass spectrometry.
