Annotation description: | Thiel et al. isolated synaptic vesicle from rat brain to investigate how synapsin II is anchored to the vesicle membrane. To this end, they used salt extraction and limited proteolysis by trypsin, and they assessed binding of recombinant synapsin II to synaptic vesicles. Synapsin II was partially degraded by limited proteolysis. Moreover, part of the protein was removed by high ionic strength buffers suggesting that the protein is a peripheral membrane protein of synaptic vesicles. |
