Annotation description: | The paper uses immunogold-silver detection to study the subcellular localization of WLS in noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons. Wls is a multi-pass transmembrane glycoprotein essential for Wnt cell signaling. Figure 3 shows silver deposits in somatodendritic processes apposing a presynaptic, vesicle-filled terminal. Some deposits are associated with the plasma membrane. Since that a clear association with sub cellular organelles is not seen or mentioned, and the membrane association is not directly at the postsynaptic membrane, one can (only) use the above-mentioned data to demonstrate a post-synaptic localization of Wls. |
