Annotation description:The location of the adenosine A1 receptor was assessed by pre-embedding immunoperoxidase and immunogold labelling. The A1 receptor was found in dendrites and spines (Table1 and 2, Fig.2-6). Immunoreactivity was found on plasma membranes, but also on endomembranes.

An affinity purified polyclonal antiserum was raised against a synthetic rat peptide (aa309-326) in the C-terminus of the receptor. The specificity of the antibody was tested by Western Blot and IHC using wildtype and A1 KO mice (Fig.1).
